Pupil (Oxford)

"Hi Simon. I just want to say thank you for everything you have done - I achieved two 9s for GCSE English Language and Literature and am so, so happy! Thank you for being my English tutor!"

"I'm thrilled to email you that my son has received four offers from schools, including his first choices - and one even with a scholarship! I want to say thank you so much on behalf of our family! You have been a tremendous help in our preparation! Both my son and I love your lessons!"

"Carl is a talented, inspirational, and dedicated tutor who works with empathy and adaptability, enabling him to quickly build trust and engagement with students. He tutored our son, Sam, from Year 10 to his GCSEs focussing on English Language and Literature. Sam is a gifted student but didn’t enjoy English and hardly ever read a work of fiction out of choice.

Carl patiently gave Sam reassurance and confidence and helped him believe he could do better. In a firm and respectful way, he identified areas to focus on and guided him through to achieving the grades he needed. Carl is wonderful, I highly recommend him without hesitation."

"Will has given my daughter a few English lessons to help her writing essays. He has helped her a lot in a short space of time. She now has a better understanding of what she needs to do to get a good mark and is much clearer about what preparation will help her before her exams. Getting some good one to one feedback on some of her existing work was also fantastic. I would thoroughly recommend Will as a tutor to anyone looking to improve their English ahead of exams."

"I would highly recommend Carl as a private English Tutor. He helped get the best out of our son Charlie and gave him the confidence to interpret the text and answer the GCSE questions, whilst giving him the tools to identify where to concentrate his time and efforts."

I had the pleasure of being tutored by The Cambridge Tutor Company for the duration of Year 13. I could honestly not recommend a more encouraging, supportive and qualified tutor team. Before I started I was getting mostly B and a few C grades in English and was seeking some additional support in order to solidify a B grade in my final exam. However, with the team’s extensive help, which included marking lots of my practise essays and providing detailed feedback, I was able to achieve an A grade in my final exam. I can honestly say that I could not have achieved an A without CTC’s support. Their tutoring throughout year 13 made a huge difference to both my grades and my overall confidence.
